Bristol-based theatre maker of nonsense music and rock'n'roll theatre Ed Patrick (aka Kid Carpet) returns to our Studio. His funny and moving new show uses music, puppetry and projection to look at what it's like to move into a new house in the city and find your place there.

Discover our fabulous collection through creative activities, stories and unexpected goings-on.
Find out about prehistoric rock art at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. Handle stone tools used around 300,000 years ago, discover the mysterious Bronze Age carvings on the Pool Farm Cist Slab, and create your own prehistoric-style cave paintings. Crafts, storytelling and hand-on activities bring the collection alive for all members of the family at a different venue each day during the October half term.

Transform the floor of the museum into a gigantic picture and bring to life the story of the monstrous Sea Dragons. Be inspired by our Dinosaur specimens; prehistoric ichthyosaur and plesiosaur fossils and by the illustrations in the Geology Gallery. Create your own rattling stories by making skeleton puppets with the help of Children’s Scrapstore and Artrageous. The King of Tiny Things is a family circus show by Metta Theatre that takes you on a dreamlike journey featuring exciting puppetry and circus skills based on the children’s story by Jeanne Willis. Two young sisters are camping in their grandparents garden, where they meet a mysterious winged creature – ‘The King of Tiny Things’, the shepherd of all who creep and buzz their wings. Together they go on a moonlit journey, rescuing all kinds of creatures who need their help, each one brought to life by a different circus discipline. The King of Tiny Things is part of Circus City.
